I had solved 2 questions (out of 6) in CODEVITA Season 8 Zone 2 and hence was directly called for face-2-face interview. Whole process consists of three rounds : one technical, one hr, and one managerial. Here is my interview experience :
At first, they collected my application form, and finally i was called after 1 hour for my first round.
Round 1 : Technical ( Duration : 50 minutes )
It was a panel of two. They were holding my application form.
I1 : Hello Utkarsh, How are you ?
Me : Good Afternoon sir, i am fine.
I2 : Utkarsh, brief me about yourself ?
Me : Told !!
I2 : Do you know Java ?
Me : Yes.
I2 : Tell me the difference between Java & C ?
Me : Told 4-5 different points to them.
I2 : Explain me the difference between method overloading and method overriding.
Me : Explained the difference.
I2(impressed) : Great !! Explain Abstraction with example.
Me : Explained them with an example.
I1 : As far as i see, you have solved 2 questions in Codevita. Explain me the whole procedure that you have used for both problems.
Me : I explained optimized solutions for both problems. They were happy with it.
Suggestion : Always be prepared with your solutions, that you solved in contest.
I2 : Why you have used C++ for coding ?
Me : It’s because of the robust support of STL.
I2 : Write code for bubble sort.
Me : Wrote !!
I1 : Time complexity of bubble sort is O(n^2). Tell me one sorting algorithm that is better than bubble sort.
Me : Told him about Merge Sort with code.
I1 : Nice, do you know anything about modern day technologies ? Name some of them.
Me : I told them about Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, IOT, Artificial Intelligence.
Suggestion : Have a surface level knowledge about modern technologies.
I2 : What is Cloud Computing ?
Me : Explained !!
I1 : You have done three projects till date. Explained me the project that you liked most.
Me : Discussion went for 10 minutes.
I2 : Ok, Utkarsh, we are done now. Do you have any questions ?
Me : asked about my job profile.
Suggestion : Always ask questions.
After few minutes, i was called for second round.
Round 2 : HR ( Duration : 15 minutes )
There was a single person in the room, he asked me to sit.
I : So, how are you feeling right now ?
Me : Very excited sir, as this is my first interview.
I : Give me a brief introduction about yourself.
Me : Told with full confidence.
I : What do you know TCS ?
Me : I have researched well in this domain hence it was a cake-walk for me.
Suggestion : Always research about company in which you are going to be interviewed.
I : Why TCS ?
Me : I have researched well in this domain hence it was a cake-walk for me.
I : Are you ready to relocate ?
Me : Yes sir.
He then asked me to wait for sometime.
Last round was managerial round. They just verified my documents.
After 20 days, results were announced and I WAS SELECTED !!
