I solved 1 question (out of 6) in CODEVITA Season 8. Though i was not expecting interview call, but still i was called for an interview at SRM Lucknow.

My interview was scheduled in 3rd Shift (evening). So, after waiting for almost 5-6 hours, i was called at 7:05 pm.

Round 1 : Technical ( Duration : 25 minutes )

It was a panel of two. It seemed like they were exhausted too(like me). They didn’t even asked me for my resume. Rather, one of them asked me :

I1 : You know Java ?

Me : Yes sir, i am comfortable in java.

He asked some questions on Java.

I2 : Explain Polymorphism ?

Me : Explained.

I2 : Good ! Differentiate between final, finally, and finalize().

Me : Somehow i managed to answer this question.

I2 : Then, he gave me a puzzle to solve :

You have 3 boxes of balls (each ball weighing exactly10 gm) with one box with defective balls (each one of the defective balls weigh 9 gm). You are given an electronic weighing machine and only one chance at it. How will find out which box has the defective balls?

Me : After thinking for some time, i told him an approach.

I2 : It’s not up to the mark.

I1 : Ok yash, no problem, explain me the ACID properties in database ?

Me : Explained the concept.

I1 : Can you explain it with examples ?

Me : Somehow i managed to answer.

I1 : What are DDL, DCL, DML commands ?

Me : Explained with example.

I2 : We are done now. You can wait outside.

Me : Ok sir, thank you.

After sometime, one boy came up, announced my name, and told me “You can leave for the day !!”.

I was disappointed. It was my first rejection.

Now, i am having two offers : one from Infosys and one from Cap Gemini.
