PROFILE : Power Programmer

PROGRAM : Hack with Infy 

PACKAGE : 8 lakhs per annum

VERDICT : Rejected

My interview was solely based on data structures. Interviewer asked me to code some problems on data structures – 

1. Draw a tree to show how we evaluate fibonacci(N).  Write a program to print fibonacci series upto n numbers.

For writing a program, i proposed a solution O(n) time complexity. But he asked me for a O(log n) solution. I was unable to do it. 

2. Name a sorting algorithm that works on divide and conquer approach.

I said Merge Sort. 

He then asked me to write code for it.

Fortunately, i wrote.

  3. Given an integer, print the next smallest palindrome.

 Eg. If integer is 1234, output must be 1331.

I coded a naive solution.

After reading his face, i could say that i was going to lose the battle. 

But this was the final nail in the coffin.

4. Give me the level order of binary tree. 

I was like, i don’t want to continue anymore. Please stop.

Finally interview ended. 

And no surprise for guessing, i was not selected.
