TCS NQT 2020 SYLLABUS

TCS NQT, also referred as TCS National Qualifier Test, is a 90 minutes online test conducted by TCS. It is considered to be one of the biggest hiring program conducted by TCS in the search of young talents all across the country. It is an online test that consists of four sections :

1. Verbal/ English

2. Quants/ Aptitude

3. Programming

4. Coding

SYLLABUS

Section 1 – Quant

This Section contains 15 questions that are needed to solved in 30 minutes. Most of the questions in this section are covered from following topics :

1. Arrangements and Series

2. Number System

3. Basic Algebra

4. Percentages

5. *Time & Work

6. *Speed, Time & Distance

7. *Ratio & Average

8. Profit & Loss

9. Age & Year calculations

10. Clocks

11. *Permutations & Combinations

12. *Probability

13. Mixtures & Quantity

* denotes most important topics for exam.

Section 2 : English / Verbal

This Section contains 15 questions that are needed to be completed in 10 minutes. Questions are generally put up in the form of :

1. *Sentence completion / Error Detection

2. *Articles

3. *Prepositions

4. *Passage

5. *Direct & Indirect Speech

6. *Jumbled Para

* denotes most important topics for exam.

Note !! This Section has negative marking.



Section 3 : Programming

This Section contains 10 questions that are needed to be completed in 20 minutes. It may contain tricky code snippets (like output questions, generally in C/C++) as well as some theoretical questions. Questions are put up from basic programming concepts like procedural programming, object oriented programming, data types, call by value, call by reference, dynamic memory allocation, pointers, strings, array processing etc.

60% questions will be covered from C and rest from Java.

Section 4 : Coding

This Section contains 1 coding problem that needs to be solved within a given time frame of 30 minutes. This section is evaluated on the basis of number of test cases your solution code passes.
